Awful Doctor Who episode “The Curse of the Black Spot” is to be burned by the BBC in an effort to up its reputation. Producer Steven Moffat says “People just don’t like it. I blame that on being able to actually watch it. Look at the reputation Tomb of the Cybermen had when we couldn’t see it. I’m not saying it’s a bad story, but people really loved it when they couldn’t see it and now they rate it about average. I’ve spoken with whoever it was that wrote the episode and he’s mostly fine with this plan. In ten years it will be remembered as a Lost Classic.”
